Well, Zotero has launched, and I’m all bummed to learn that it requires Firefox 2.0, which is a release candidate (beta) build, which means many of the extensions I rely upon are not likely to work, which means I’m not installing it yet, which means I can’t install Zotero yet. Lemmie know how you like it if you’re adventurous…

Suggestion:
Install (well, really just extract) a self-contained version of FF RC (can be installed parallel to existing 1.X > doesn’t touch it):

Works perfect for me :).
I installed the private beta & gave them feedback. I was very pleased to find that they addressed most of the concerns I expressed (particularly BibTeX support & a better COinS processor–the new one seems to work perfectly with refbase‘s pages). Definitely worth checking out.
Good to know FF 2 can be installed w/o overwriting 1.5, but I think I’m still going to wait, as I’d prefer to use Zotero in my daily workflow browser. Also good to hear the developers have been responsive. I’m just now about 1/4 through the interview with the developers on episode 5 of Library Geeks.
If you install the “Nightly Tester Tools” extension, it can override Firefox’s desire to make your extensions not work. I did this about a month ago with FF2 and all the extensions I use have worked normally.
