Bet most of you don’t have this much fun on YOUR campus! This arrived via email a short time ago:
Moose tranquilized and safely removed from campus
Alberta Fish and Wildlife Officers successfully tranquilized and removed a young moose from campus this morning.
The moose wandered onto campus at about 8:20 a.m. and broke through a window in the link between Reeve Theatre and Craigie Hall. Fish and Wildlife Officers had been in the area and were able to tranquilize the moose shortly after 8:30 a.m.
Alberta Fish and Wildlife Officers were to monitor and then release the moose.
Poor moose.

Yep, we do have that kind of fun on our campus too:
“Bear Sightings on Campus
A number of bear sightings have recently occurred at different locations around campus. Please note: This is the time of year that bears tend to frequent the campus area, and all users of the campus need to be “BEAR AWARE.” Travel in pairs when outside and when traveling by foot across campus. If you see a bear, call Security Services.”
Well ok, I know I have readers north of the 49th, and that this advisory wouldn’t be so funny to you, but it’s not the sort of thing one would’ve experienced where I worked in Florida or Virginia. Maybe an alligator in Florida… 😉
Not that much fun, but we did get a campus alert about a Mountain Lion sited on campus in the Metro Washington, D.C. area!
Megan, yikes!
