TeamViewer for Desktop Sharing

Haven’t had a chance to try this, but TeamViewer, free for non-commercial use, offers desktop sharing for both Windows and Mac. They claim 10 million users – wonder if they were known as something else before?

  2. Hi Paul,
In case you are interested in finding the right desktop sharing tool for you, I think you might like Mikogo (http://www.mikogo.com).
With Mikogo, users can host smooth-running screen sharing sessions and invite up to 10 participants simultaneously to any one Mikogo meeting. Switch presenter, remote control, file transfer, etc. are just a few features. The Mikogo Skype Extra gives you free calls and screen sharing together.
Also, there are no configurations or network/firewall changes, so it’s very easy and fast to use. Secure 256 AES end-to-end encryption.
Take a look at the website when you have a moment or if you want the opinion of another librarian blogger, Patricia Donaghy: http://pdonaghy.blogspot.com/2008/06/screen-sharing-with-mikogo.html

  3. Yeah, TeamViewer isn’t too shabby, all things considered. But security is my primary concern, so I’ve gone with RHUB’s remote support servers. It works well.
