  • ALA | IL_Tutorials

I’ve just discovered the ALA | IL_Tutorials site, thanks to a mention in the August CIT Infobits. This site contains links to 16 online tutorials, any of which would be appropriate for distance students. Some are much fancier than others, but all seem to cover the basics.

  • Not quite ready for prime time

A while ago I compared the Qarbon ViewletBuilder to Wink. A colleague and I just finished putting together a presentation we’ll be delivering virtually at a local conference – Best Practices in eLearning. The idea is that we’re going to deliver this Powerpoint w/o actually standing there to deliver it. Many of the other presenters…

  • Directions and Files For Integrating TILT Into Blackboard 6.0

An eBuddy of mine, Gary Roberts at Alfred University, has just posted some very comprehensive step-by-step instructions for importing TILT into BlackBoard.  I haven’t followed the instructions yet, but Gary’s been playing with TILT and BlackBoard for at least a year now, so I’m thinking he’s got it down pretty good by now.  Thanks Gary!…

There were two library-related presentations at the conference, and I got something from both of them. The first was presented by a student (and not a library student!) who had been involved in a…

  • Information Literacy Webliography

A good-looking Information Literacy site was just mentioned on the Information Literacy Weblog (of course!). Here you will find a page each for Web sites, Articles, Bibliographies, and Mailing lists relating to information literacy. Very international in scope too, which is refreshing 🙂 Information Literacy – Sources of Information

  • Wink vs Viewlets

I’ve been using the Qarbon ViewletBuilder for online tutorials for a couple of years now and have been very pleased with it.  At a recent meeting a colleague mentioned a freeware alternative called Wink that does pretty much the same thing, so I thought I’d give it a go for comparison’s sake. In a nutshell…
