Brian Mathews thinks it’s a waste of time to create a library profile on Facebook. You may recall Brian had the neat presentation called Intuitive Revelations: The Ubiquitous Reference Model, in which he created a library identiy in LiveJournal. In that project he concluded that it seemed to work a lot better when he showed up as himself rather than as his library incarnate, but now he’s going further, suggesting that because Facebook is likely to be a fleeting phenomenon (Facebook specifically, but not the idea of social networks), you really shouldn’t put all your eggs in their basket.
