Information Literacy and Macromedia Captivate

Ahh, the cross-pollination continues 😉  Gary Roberts has some very positive words to say about Macromedia Captivate, which I have yet to download and play with.  He closes his post with, "My prediction is that libraries will widely adopt this application to create demonstrations for remote users."

  1. For those of us on small budgets MM Captivate is $200 (at education pricing) less for other things, there are two free options:
PowerBullet – designed for presentations but fairly easy to adapt and allows voice over – http://powerbullet.com
Wink – designed for software demos, but no voice over – http://www.debugmode.com/wink/
Both are airly easy to use. (PowerBullet is free as version 1.35 but has a small cost for version 1.4, Wink is simply free.)

  2. Hi Tim.
Just to clarify: Powerbullet 1.4 is still free. There’s now a Plus version that’s $20, but no change to the freebie (except some new features).
