Wonderful Skullcandy Warranty

I have no idea how we can co-opt this in library land, but I wanted to share with you the absolutely wonderful-sounding warranty offered by the manufacturer of my newest pair of earphones, Skullcandy:

Skullcandy is proud to provide he best product warranty in the industry.  If this product should fail in your lifetime, we will replace it at no charge.  If the product is damaged by aggressive music listeners sliding a rail, sliding down the emergency ramp of your aircraft, slammed in your locker, slammed in your car door, run over by a car, running into a wall, getting run out of town, mountain biking, road biking, sky diving…, blown up in an accidental experimentation with flammable substances, or damaged in any other every day experience, it means you are living your life the way we want out product used!  In these, or any other damaging events, we will replace the product for a 50% discount from retail.  — Love Skullcandy.

Oh yeah, and I really like the headphones too 🙂

    I just sent my fm jacket back for warranty review.I mentioned I had bought some inked to use in the interim,man get me back my fm jackets . Fit ,sound, etc way better. Thanks for listening.

  2. This warranty is for real. I had a pair of their noise canceling headphones and the left earphone died. I wrote in and sent them the pair, which they replaced for no charge. It’s nice to see a company who actually stands behind their products!

  3. Good to know, Ice. A local friend was also able to get an exchange, though he had a bit of a hassle finding the correct contact for Canada.

  4. I love Skullcandy….but this warranty is why I will never again buy another one of their products.
    The part about a discount is a scam. I have had 2 pairs break in the exact same way. Can I get a discount? Yes, I have the privilege of buying another pair directly from them at half off. Problem is, the prices on their website are double the prices in retail.
    So, since I have a warrantied product, I can send them the exact amount I would spend at Best Buy, and they will send me the exact product Best Buy would give me. Amazing warranty!
    Or maybe more like dirty shifty business. Manipulative and scheming. Don’t give these people your money.

  6. Well, the warranty itself still seems good to me – I was able to exchange with minimal hassle, and the price I got on the Cdn store was decent, if not 50% off retail. What really sucks for me though is that even though I paid $7 in shipping, FedEx charged me another $14 for brokerage fees, COD! So it wasn’t a great deal overall for me, but in the US it ought to be decent(ish).

  7. I have a pair of SkullCandy that I sent back 4 months ago. No news since then. At least 20 emails (at different places) were sent and never got any response.
